Mahjouri Cosmetic Surgery & Skincare Clinic has several different brands of facial fillers which make wrinkles, a common sign of aging, disappear. The reason we utilize different fillers at our practice is because each brand is designed with a different formula to achieve variations on the same cosmetic benefit.
Radiesse®
Radiesse® fills in smile, frown, cheek and lip lines, which can be visible immediately after injection and may last between 12 and 18 months. Calcium hydroxylapatite, the active ingredient which stimulates collagen production, is naturally absorbed by the body. Collagen, in turn, allows the skin to regain its volume and fill in its wrinkles. As such, Radiesse® best serves patients who desire dramatic results without longer lasting results.
Bellafill®
Bellafill® causes smile lines and acne scars to fade in a way which looks natural. This product contains mostly collagen and tiny spheres of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). The spheres of PMMA last much longer than the injected collagen and bind to your body’s naturally producing collagen and tissue. Treatment with Bellafill® may last 3 to five years for smile lines and up to one year for acne scars.
Juvederm®
Most fillers offered by our Fridley cosmetic surgery center tend to target specific areas of the face. Juvederm®, however, has the option to treat different creases on the face especially around lip area. Juvederm® can be applied to specific smile lines or the lips to create one effect, or it can be used to add volume to the lip and cheeks. Juvederm® can last between six months to one year if applied to smile lines and lips, and, as long as two years when applied to the cheeks.
Restylane®
Not every filler is able to effectively treat deep folds and creases. However, Restylane® is known for addressing these concerns and producing natural-looking results. Smile lines, lines running down from the corners of the mouth to the chin, and the lipstick bleeding areas can be filled out for a younger appearance that can last as long as 18 months. This is because Restylane® uses hyaluronic acid, a sugar found in skin which protects the volume of the skin.
