The differences in these brand names’ results arise from suggested dosage, long lasting results, and how far the dosage spreads, all depending on its molecular makeup.
BOTOX Cosmetic®
BOTOX Cosmetic® is possibly the most easily popularized of these brands. This product is used to treat wrinkles around the eyes, or crow’s feet, and the deep lines between the eyebrows. Results can be seen as soon as twenty-four to forty-eight hours after treatment. Crow’s feet and lines are usually smoothed for as long as four months, at which point a re-treatment may be necessary. As BOTOX Cosmetic® are site specific, best results are achieved in a multiple treatment area.
Dysport®
Dysport® is an injectable relaxant which specifically targets creases between the eyebrows for adult patients under the age of sixty-five. This focused treatment allows Dysport® to only affect these areas, creating the natural appearance of youth. The results of Dysport® are often noticeable within two or three days after administration and can last up to four months.
Xeomin®
Xeomin® is another treatment which specifically affects folds between the eyebrows. Age is not a factor in Xeomin®, and it otherwise produces natural looking results similar to that of Dysport®. Xeomin requires three or four days to take effect, and lasts for an average of ninety days. This brand is used at our Fridley cosmetic surgery practice because it produces natural-looking results for patients of any age. As the effects do not linger as long as other brands, it gives our patients more flexible options if they were not satisfied with the other brands.
