Radiesse
What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is a dermal filler most often used to restore volume and smooth “smile lines” and “frown lines” and dimishing indented scars such as those from acne. Radiesse is unlike any other dermal fillers. It is a completely synthetic compound comprised of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite, combined with an aqueous gel. This mineral is found naturally in the body, so there is little chance of allergic reactions or inflammation.
How long does Radiesse last?
Since the mineral in Radiesse provides a matrix into which the body’s own tissue can grow and ad volume it is currently one of the longest lasting injectable filler. Radiesse injection have been known to last for 18-24 months or more depending on age, skin type, lifestyle, and muscle activity.
General Procedure
Radiesse consultations and treatments are performed our office and take about fifteen to thirty minutes. Depending on your sensitivity, the area to be treated may be numbed. Then using pre-loaded syringes, Radiesse is injected into the wrinkle through a tiny needle.
