What are Contour Threads?

Contour Threads are the first non-absorbable barbed sutures (approved by FDA) for lifting saggy brows, midface and neck areas.  Contour Thread Lift is a procedure that Dr. Mahjouri performs as out patient at West Health Surgery Center in Plymouth, Minnesota.  These procedures can be performed under local anesthesia, with mild sedation.  We offer complimentary cosmetic consultations in our clinics in Fridley and Plymouth.

Contour Thread Lift is a relatively new and effective procedure that offers subtle, natural-looking results.  This technique allows the physician to produce a relaxed, refreshed appearance while preserving and enhancing the natural contours of your face.  Contour Thread Lift does not take the place of a conventional facelift, but rather offers patients a minimally invasive approach to achieving face-lift like results with minimal downtime and minimal side effects.

Reasons for Considering Contour Thread Lift

-Elevate sagging brows
-Adjust asymmetrical brows
-Reposition sagging cheeks
-Improve drooping soft tissues of the mid and lower face
-Smooth out premature skin aging
-Improve facial contours while waiting for appropriate time to have a conventional face lift

General Procedure

Dr. Mahjouri makes tiny incisions or puncture wounds in the hairline area and the Contour Threads are inserted under the skin.  The tiny barbs on each thread open in an umbrella-like fashion to form a support structure that gently engages into sagging tissues of the brow, face and neck.  Once the threads are in position, your body generates new collagen bundles that encapsulate each thread to help maintain the elevation or lifting effect.  The exact number, direction and placement of threads will vary from patient to patient.
